Immigration

New Americans drive economic prosperity

Immigrants give more than they take. It’s that simple. With this shared understanding, we can craft policies recognizing the importance of immigrants in our local economies. Working together to create an inclusive economy – one that gives all business owners equal access to resources, support, and opportunities – is the way forward.

Citizenship Drive Workshops

Business For Good and the Employee Rights Center will co-host two Citizenship Drive Workshops in 2023. Nearly 65,000 immigrant entrepreneurs in San Diego County want to become U.S. citizens but lack the resources to cover the administrative and legal costs to do so. These workshops bring them one step closer to realizing their dream.

All workshop attendees will be able to:

  • Get an assessment and review of their unique citizenship situation
  • Speak with a legal reviewer to ask important questions

Below are the dates of the workshops:

March 25, 2023
Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Location: 4161 Home Ave San Diego, CA 92105

June 24, 2023
Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Location: TBD

All workshop attendees are eligible for a no-interest loan to pay for their legal fees. But if enough money is raised, we’ll be able to cover the whole cost for them!
