Social Media Internship

We seek an energetic, well‐organized and self‐motivated individual as a social media intern under the executive director. This position assists with social media communications that help advance the organization’s initiatives and helps expand the advocacy and outreach platforms. Candidates must have, or be in the process of obtaining, a university degree.

Social Media Intern Responsibilities:

Track/analyze social media and digital marketing metrics
Create events, update weekly information on Facebook
Distribute events through community calendars
Distribute information through website blogs
Network social media accounts (Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc.)
Coordinate with members to collect stories to share on social media
Develop and run content calendar
Develop and share social media content for members to share


Applicants should have experience with creating marketing and communications projects and an interest in business campaigns. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, highly developed organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to manage projects. He or she must be hard working, self-motivated and must demonstrate a deep commitment and passion for environmental protection.

Duties require:

Writing experience
Design experience (Canva and Piktochart are acceptable)
Interactive media experience
Attention to detail

Salary, Benefits & Terms:

Compensation—nonpaid, ideally for college credit
Schedule—Part time (15- 20 hours/week) (may include some weekends)
Length of Internship—At least three months
Start Date—As soon as filled
